Kirk Session Committees
Parish Group – Is convened by Stephen Black and leads our efforts in caring for the needs of our members including long term visiting to the elderly and housebound, short term visiting to those who have been ill, doing follow-ups to those families who have had children baptised in our church, and providing transport to church. They also take a keen and active interest in all that is going on in the community, representing the church at various meetings to do with the future of Banchory as well as hosting events such as the Community Consultation Exercise.
Communications / Publicity Group – Responsible for publicising the Church’s activities and purpose as well as producing the Church Magazine and managing our website.
Worship Group: takes a lead role in any matters relating to worship, education and helping people feel at home in the church.
World Mission: Johanna Bell convenes this group supporting the wider mission of the church in the world. Our current projects link us with the Scot’s Kirk and the Women’s Development Centre in Kandy, Sri-Lanka. We also support the Nansato Nursery Trust in Southern Malawi.
Reach Out Group – is convened by Audrey Bowker and takes a lead in how the East Church relates and reaches out to the wider community.
Joint Youth Programme – representatives from both the East and West Churches meet to discuss and support the work of the team led by Tony Stephen.
